Man killed in Brampton shooting

A man is dead following a shooting in Brampton.

Police were called to the area of Williams Parkway and James Potter Road around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday night for reports of multiple gunshots.

When they arrived they located the body of a man on the grounds of St. Roch Catholic School suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.

Police have yet to release any suspect information but do say they believe it to be a targeted shooting.

“Given the time of night that this occurred, the area was heavily occupied and detectives are ascertaining who might be suspects, bystanders or any associates of the victim,” said Const. Tyler Bell.

Police add that there does not appear to be any connection between the school itself and the shooting.
