Raptors sign Garrett Temple to 1-year, $3.2M deal: report

The Toronto Raptors agreed to a one-year, $3.2-million contract with veteran forward and guard Garrett Temple, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Temple, 37, will be playing in his 14th NBA season with the Raptors. The contract counts as a 10-year-plus veteran minimum and will only count for $ 2 million against the salary cap.

The Raptors will be Temple’s 12th team, as he’s bounced around a lot in recent years. He most recently played with the New Orleans Pelicans, appearing in 25 games last season, averaging two points a game and shooting 42 per cent from three.

Temple was waived by the Pelicans on July 5.

The 37-year-old made his NBA debut in February 2010 before catching on with the Washington Wizards, where he played for four seasons from 2013 to 2016.

In 716 career NBA games, Temple has averaged 6.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest. He is a career 34.5 per cent shooter from three-point range.
