A dog owner is facing charges after a dog attack in East York left a woman with serious injuries.

Police were called to the area of Mortimer Avenue and Coxwell Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, responding to an animal complaint.

Police have now charged 51-year-old Toronto resident Carla De Oliveira Baganha with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

She is scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom in September.
