Driver injured in transport truck rollover crash on Hwy. 401 in Bowmanville

A driver escaped with minor injuries after a tractor-trailer rolled over in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Bowmanville.

Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to the highway near Liberty Street just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police say the tractor-trailer was hauling steel and three other passenger vehicles were involved in the crash.

OPP photos from the scene show the rolled over tractor-trailer lying on its side on top of the guardrail, and a portion of the concrete barrier knocked out from the impact of the crash.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
