Man, 92, in critical condition after being struck by vehicle in North York

A 92-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being struck by a vehicle at a North York plaza on Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews responded to a plaza parking lot in the area of Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue around 10:50 a.m. for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Paramedics rushed the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Insp. Jeff Bangild said early indication is the driver was travelling at a high rate of speed when they struck the victim in a crosswalk.
Police said the driver involved remained at the scene. It is not yet known if any charges will be laid.
The investigation is ongoing.
