16-year-old boy arrested in Parkdale fatal stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and is facing a manslaughter charge in the death of a Toronto man in Parkdale earlier this year.

Officers responded to a call in the area of Queen Street West and Callender Street near Jameson Avenue just before midnight on Jan. 6.

Investigators say a man was found outside with life-threatening stab wounds. He later died in a hospital.

Police have since identified him as 35-year-old Scott Robert Partington.

On Tuesday, police arrested and charged a 16-year-old with manslaughter, possession of a prohibited weapon, and fail to comply with a release order.

The teen cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police have not elaborated on what led to the stabbing but said the victim and the suspect did not know each other.
