Police are on the hunt for suspects after a shooting near Lansdowne and College left one man dead. Shauna Hunt reports on the investigation.

Police are searching for suspects after an overnight shooting in Toronto’s west end that claimed the life of a young man.

Emergency crews were called to Lansdowne Street north of College Street for reports of gunshots around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police confirm a young man was found injured at the scene and rushed to hospital with serious injuries where he was pronounced dead.

A man in his 20s attended hospital with non-life-threatening injuries shortly after the shooting. Investigators are still trying to determine if, and in what way, the man who made his way to hospital is connected to the shooting.

“We’re trying to determine if the (injured) person is involved in the actual homicide,” said Toronto police Det. Michael McGinn. “What his role, or how he is involved, is yet to be determined.”

No suspect information has been made available and police have confirmed no arrests have been made.

Neighbours in the dense residential area tell CityNews they heard multiple shots ring out. Police are asking residents in the area to look for any discarded items that could be related to the shooting.

A stretch of Lansdowne remains closed to traffic between College and Bloor streets.
