Woman in 50s dies after being struck by garbage truck in downtown Oshawa

A woman is dead after being struck by a garbage truck in downtown Oshawa on Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Bond and Centre streets around 8:10 a.m. for reports of a collision.
Police say a garbage truck was turning right from Centre Street to Bond Street when it struck a woman.
Police say a 57-year-old woman was struck by a truck. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the garbage truck, a 53-year-old man, remained at the scene.
Bond Street was closed in the area for several hours but roads have reopened.
Anyone with information about the crash is being asked to contact police.
