Youths charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal shooting of boy, 16, at Parkdale apartment

Two male youths have been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old at a Parkdale apartment building earlier this week.

Authorities were called to 145 Jameson Ave. near King Street West just after midnight for reports of gunshots heard in the area.

Officers found a male victim with gunshot wounds in an apartment unit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 16-year-old Mohamed Doumbouya of Toronto. Police had previously said he was not a resident of the apartment and it’s unknown why he was there.

On Thursday, police arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, in connection to the homicide. They were charged with second-degree murder and were slated to appear in court this morning.

They were not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
