Cyclist hit by vehicle in Oakville, critically injured

A 40-year-old man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police officers and paramedics were called to Dorval Drive and Wyecroft Road, south of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), on Thursday morning.

Police say the cyclist is now in stable condition in hospital.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

Dorval is closed in both directions from the QEW to Speers Road for the collision investigation.

Police say the road closures are expected to be in place for several hours.
