Police say the complainant who reported that their dog had been stabbed by a stranger in Ramsden Park, was allegedly the one responsible for doing so. Michelle Mackey has the latest on the dog's condition.

The complainant who told police a dog had been stabbed by a stranger in Ramsden Park has been arrested by Toronto police.

Officers were called to the park in midtown near Davenport and Avenue roads just after 4 p.m. for reports of the stabbing.

The person had called police to say they were walking in the park when someone stabbed the dog.

The dog was taken to a vet hospital with multiple stab wounds, but is expected to survive.

It was later determined the person who called police about the stabbing is allegedly responsible for stabbing the dog. The person arrested is not the dog’s owner, but is known to the dog’s owner.

Police originally provided a suspect description, but later said the complainant had been arrested and there are no suspects outstanding.
