Man in his 60s dies in residential fire in Riverdale

A man in his 60s has died after being pulled from a residential fire in Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood late Friday afternoon.

Fire officials say they were met with heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a semi-detached home on Logan Avenue near Danforth Avenue around 5:15 p.m.

One man in his 60s was rescued from the home and transported by paramedics in critical condition to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Toronto Fire Services says the blaze was knocked down shortly after they arrived at the scene.
