Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz:
Rachel Weisz very publicly split from Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky in November 2010, and was spotted the next month getting cozy with Dream House costar Daniel Craig. Despite packing on the PDA during a night out in N.Y.C. in February, Craig and Weisz never officially confirmed they were a couple until – surprise! – the two married in upstate New York on June 22, 2011. Only four people witnessed the ceremony, among them Craig’s 18-year-old daughter Ella and Weisz’s 4-year-old son Henry (from her relationship with Aronofsky).
Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem:
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem actually met on the set of Penélope’s first movie, Jamon, Jamon, in 1992 – but it wasn’t until 2007 that their friendship grew into something stronger. Though the two refused to comment on their relationship, never walked red carpets together and continually managed to dodge paparazzi, by 2009 rumors persisted that they were engaged. Rumor became reality in mid-July 2010 when their rep confirmed that they had been married earlier that month in a small, private ceremony in the Bahamas. The couple welcomed a son – Leo Encinas Bardem – in January 2011.
Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green:
Transformers actress Megan Fox and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green met on the set of Hope & Faith in 2004, and began dating shortly thereafter. The romance proved a rocky one, though: They were engaged in 2006, but subsequently broke it off in February 2009. The couple continued to be spotted out and about, however, fueling speculation that they faked their breakup. In mid-June 2010, they announced they were back together and – two weeks later – wed in secret in Hawaii.
Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom:
Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian and L.A. Lakers forward Lamar Odom were confirmed as a couple in early September 2009, were engaged by the middle of the month and – after only nine days of planning! – got hitched on September 27, 2009. The affair was filmed as part of Kardashian’s E! television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and the couple proved so charismatic that they recently nabbed a spinoff show titled Khloe & Lamar, which debuted on E! in April 2011.
Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon:
Sultry singer Mariah Carey and actor/rapper Nick Cannon met in late March 2008 on the set of Carey’s “Bye, Bye” video shoot. They denied their coupling when spotted together in early April – but, by the end of the month, Carey was sporting a rock on her ring finger. Still, the two continued to play coy with the press – that is, until they released a photo exclusively to People confirming that they’d married on April 30 at Carey’s Bahamas estate! Despite their whirlwind six-week courtship, Mariah and Nick are still together – and even serendipitously welcomed twins, son Moroccan Scott and daughter Monroe Cannon, on their third wedding anniversary this April!
Ryan Reynolds & Scarlett Johansson:
Ryan Reynolds bounced back from the demise of an almost three-year engagement to singer Alanis Morissette by nabbing one of the most sought-after women in Hollywood: Scarlett Johansson. ScarJo and Ryan began dating in mid-2007, and by May 2008 they were engaged. The couple paparazzi-proofed their nuptials by gathering less than 40 family and friends at the remote Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island in British Columbia – and they were married there on September 27, 2008. Though the ultra-private celebration went smoothly, the same sadly can’t be said of the rest of their marriage: The photogenic couple announced their separation on December 14, 2010.
Renee Zellweger & Kenny Chesney:
Oscar winner Renee Zellweger and country singer Kenny Chesney met at a tsunami relief benefit concert in January 2005, bypassed engagement and went straight to marriage – shocking the media by tying the knot in the Virgin Islands on May 9, 2005. Alas, the union was short-lived – Zellweger filed for annulment in September 2005.
Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony:
Longtime friends Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony briefly dated in the late ’90s, but it seems they were brought back together by mutual heartache. In early 2004 – after J.Lo’s highly publicized failed engagement to actor Ben Affleck and Marc’s separation from former Miss Universe Dayanarra Torres – rumors swirled that Lopez and Anthony were a couple. On June 5, 2004 – less than a week after Anthony’s divorce from Torres was finalized – the duo invited about 35 guests to an “afternoon party” at Lopez’s mansion in Beverly Hills. Anthony then surprised the crowd by announcing that they’d be witnessing the couple’s wedding. Still happily married, Lopez and Anthony welcomed twins Max and Emme in February 2008.
Britney Spears & Jason Alexander:
Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, as evidenced by the short marriage of pop star Britney Spears and her childhood friend Jason Alexander. The then-22-year-olds reportedly partied hard before making the snap decision to marry at the Little White Wedding Chapel on January 3, 2004, then quickly annulled the union the next day. Spears subsequently dated her backup dancer Kevin Federline, and the couple became engaged in June 2004. They announced that they’d be marrying in October of the same year, and invited friends and family to an “engagement party” on September 18, 2004, which – to the surprise of even Britney’s mother – turned out to be a wedding. The couple went on to parent two children, though the romance only lasted two years; Britney filed for divorce on November 7, 2006.
Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin:
Oscar-winning American actress Gwyneth Paltrow and British Coldplay rocker Chris Martin met after one of Martin’s concerts in October 2002, and enjoyed a famously private courtship. They approached their December 5, 2003 wedding with much the same demeanor – tying the knot in secret in Santa Barbara, Calif. Not even Gwyneth’s famous mom, actress Blythe Danner, was invited! There may’ve been a reason for the rush, though – six months later, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Apple (now 7 years old). They’ve since added son Moses, 5, to the family.
Julia Roberts & Danny Moder:
Julia Roberts and her cameraman husband Danny Moder met on the set of The Mexican in 2000. At the time, the actress was dating actor Benjamin Bratt, and Moder was married. The chemistry between the duo lasted beyond production, though. By June 2001, Moder had filed for divorce and Roberts announced her amicable split from Bratt. On July 3, 2002, the couple flew 60 guests to Roberts’ 82-acre Taos, N.M., ranch under the guise of an Independence Day party. But, at midnight, Moder and Roberts gathered family and friends outside for what turned out to be a wedding ceremony. The two have three children together and are still going strong after almost nine years of marriage.
