Jul. 5 – StreetBeat – One Man Dead, Another Injured After Car Hits Tree

An accident left one man dead and sent another to hospital after the car they were driving failed to negotiate a curve and hit a tree near the Toronto Zoo Thursday morning.
Police say the driver, a man thought to be 20-years-old, was killed when his car slammed into a tree on Braymore Boulevard , near Meadowvale and Sheppard in Scarborough .
A passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening. Police are trying to determine if speed or a health issue may have contributed to the crash.
So far this year, 191 drivers have been killed on roads in Ontario .
