Motorcyclist dead in collision with Peel cruiser, SIU investigating

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a 41-year-old man was killed in a crash with a Peel police cruiser.
The collision happened on Tomken Road and Derry Road in Mississauga at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim was driving his motorcycle north on Tomken when the crash occurred, the SIU said. The police officer was heading east.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The police officer was not injured in the collision.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
