Thousands of hopeful contestants showed up at the Rogers Centre on Wednesday for Day 2 of Canada’s Got Talent auditions.
“Pretty much, I throw her around in the air and pray for her not to fall,” dancer Carlos Sapata told CityNews. Sapata and his partner were practicing lifts in the lobby while three-piece rock band Unit 33 warmed up inside.
“We could make it or break it right now and hopefully we’re making it,” guitarist Matt Wilson said.
Tryouts for the local version of the popular Got Talent franchise will be held at the Rogers Centre from Sept. 27-30.
Judges are looking for singers, dancers, jugglers, cyclists, fire breathers, illusionists, acrobats, ventriloquists and musicians. If you think you’ve got what it takes, they want to see it.
Pre-registration closed on Sept. 12, but you can still sign up at the door. You’ll need two pieces of ID, and, if you’re under 18, a parent or guardian.
The Citytv show is criss-crossing Canada to find contestants and has already been to Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal. After Toronto, judges will head to Halifax for the last round of auditions.
