Sabres’ Miller airs concerns about Lucic hit

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller had plenty to get off his chest in speaking for the first time since being diagnosed with a concussion after being levelled by Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic last weekend.

Miller said Tuesday that he isn’t sure when he’ll return, adding he has whiplash and is still experiencing soreness in his neck and post-concussion-like symptoms.

He doesn’t buy Lucic’s explanation that the Boston forward was playing the puck and couldn’t avoid colliding with him in Buffalo’s 6-2 loss to the Bruins on Saturday. Miller also expressed disappointment in the NHL for not disciplining Lucic.

Miller also believes his teammates do have his back after Sabres players were roundly criticized for failing to go after Lucic following the check.
