Scott Mission Still Seeking Donations On 65th Anniversary

It’s a Toronto institution that’s been around for well over half a century, but folks at the Scott Mission still work day-to-day to provide for the needs of the hundreds they feed, cloth and look after.

“The Mission is a place of welcome and service for people who are lost, lonely, needy,” said Scott Mission Executive Director David Smith. “This is a place where anybody who just has nowhere to turn can come.”

The Scott Mission was opened in 1941 by a Toronto reverend and on Saturday they celebrated 65 years of dedicated to service.

That service includes clothing men, women and children, a food bank which serves as many as 150 families a day and a daycare for 61 children.

But it takes upwards of $8 million a year to keep the Scott Mission up and running. If you’re interested helping through volunteering or donations, click here.
