Mayoral hopeful Joe Pantalone used his final campaign announcement to tout a new mobile app that allows Torontonians to easily report on city services.
With SeeClickFix users can snap a photo of a problem in their neighbourhood, enter a brief description and pin on a Google map and make it public. The app works with Facebook, Twitter and email.
“Imagine a neighbourhood in need of a playground. SeeClickFix helps raise awareness on this need and helps bring together corporations, volunteers and city services to help build that playground,” Pantalone said in a statement. “Neighbours can set up a Watch Area to track the progress of their neighbourhood’s needs. SeeClickFix can help identify a variety of needs from food banks and community centres, to businesses and city services. I’m excited about this tool because it helps bring people together to make our communities better and I want City Hall to be a part of that.”
The app will also integrate with the city’s 311 program when it comes to problems with city services.
SeeClickFix is a free web and mobile application.
