Man Dead After Single Vehicle Crash In Peel

One man is dead and two more are in hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Peel.
It appears that four people were inside the car when it slammed into a utility pole at Mayfield Rd. and McLaughlin Rd. around 12:40am on Tuesday.
Jaspreet Toor was riding in the backseat behind the driver. The 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger was taken to a Toronto hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries. A third man was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, Beerinder Singh Kaila, was not injured.
Police allege that the four-door Acura was heading south on McLaughlin Rd when the collision occurred. The vehicle allegedly left the roadway, struck and severed a hydro pole, and then continued south, striking a second hydro pole, before coming to a stop
Kaila, 20, was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with
- Dangerous Driving Causing Death
- two counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
He is being held for a bail hearing.
Investigators would like anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle immediately prior to the collision, to contact them.
