By Dilshad Burman

A man in his 40s suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in downtown Toronto Monday.

Police were called to the area of Yonge and Charles streets shortly before 2 p.m. for reports of a man “shoved into a blue bin” in the area.

When officers found the man, he had multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics said they are categorizing the incident as an assault but did not confirm the kind of injuries the victim sustained. He was taken to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they found three men who they believe are responsible for the assault and they are all now in custody. A weapon has been recovered but police did not elaborate further on what type of weapon.
