All 33 Chilean miners are now safely above ground and recovering in hospital, but after their dramatic rescue from the bowels of the earth was witnessed around the world, their lives may never be the same.
The world watched as these men defied the odds and even set a record for survival underground.
Their lives are about to change very dramatically financially.
According to CNN, some of the miners may have been making plans while they were still trapped.
Miner Yonni Barrios wrote in a letter last week while he was still in the mine.
“If we do this properly, we won’t have to work for the rest of our lives,” the note read.
Barrios got another surprise when he was brought to the surface. He was greeted by his mistress while his wife stayed home.
There is a lot of buzz about film rights and book deals. One man apparently returned to the surface with a book draft. All kinds of companies are lining up to offer endorsement deals.
There’s also word of free gifts like iPods and trips.
And one man, a huge Elvis fan has been invited to vist the mecca of the King … Graceland.
