4 separate crashes leave 3 dead, 5 injured

TORONTO, On. – Four separate crashes across the province this weekend left three people dead and five others injured.

The three fatalities happened in the Greater Toronto Area on Friday.

A 27-year-old Uxbridge man died when his pickup truck went off the road on Westney Road and Concession 8, in Pickering, hitting a tree.

The crash happened around 9:45 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 76-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife died in a two-car collision on  McLaughlin Road, near Courtney Park Drive in Mississauga.

Both passengers were pronounced dead upon arriving to the hospital.

Early Saturday, a 22-year-old man was left with life-threatening injuries after his car went airborne and slammed into a house in Pelham, near St. Catharines.

The people in the home were not hurt.

Finally, near Cookstown, a tractor trailer passing a car on County Road 27, near 13th line went out of control, swerving over the car and dragging it underneath.

Three people in the car and the trucker were transported to hospital.
