OTTAWA – One of Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s newest cabinet ministers is already being put to work.
Minister of State for Finance Ted Menzies is set to announce additional funding for student summer jobs.
The government is making a permanent $10-million boost, and it’s expected to fund as many as 3,500 more jobs for students next summer. The money comes from existing resources.
Menzies will make the announcement in Ottawa, while Minister of Veterans Affairs Jean-Pierre Blackburn will do so in Quebec.
