Mike Crawley has been elected as the incoming president of the federal Liberal party, beating out former deputy prime minister and other front-runner Sheila Copps.
A member of the Liberal party since 1985, Crawley was head of the party’s Ontario wing and has served in various staff roles on Parliament Hill and in the Ontario Liberal Leader’s office.
Crawley’s day job is as president of International Power Canada, an internationally-owned, Ontario-focused wind developer.
He lives in Toronto with his wife Heather and two daughters. He is also an avid long-distance runner.
Nearly 3,000 delegates cast their ballots Saturday at the Liberal policy conference.
