TORONTO, Ont. – It appears Toronto high school students can read and write pretty well.
Results from the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) show the Toronto District School Board has maintained a pass rate of 81 per cent.
TDSB director of education said the results show the boards re-engagement program and before and after school literacy tutorials and working.
He also said they must continue to focus their attention to help students who are struggling.
The provincial pass rate dropped one per cent, to 82 per cent.
The results were released, Wednesday, by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) — an independent provincial agency funded by the Ontario government.
