Arrests made in connection to ATM frauds

Durham Regional Police say they have prevented over one-million dollars in financial losses following the arrests of six people involved in creating, distributing and using ATM fraud devices. The initiative called “Project Kaiser” started last summer by Durham Police and OPP, and has since recovered around 110 ATM overlay and pinhole camera devices, hundreds of  credit cards, thousands of compromised electronic data and three vehicles. Five men and one woman have been arrested in raids in Barrie, Newmarket and Vaughan. They are each facing a number of charges including fraud over $5000, conspiracy to commit fraud and participate in a criminal organization.
