OTTAWA – The chief executive at Canada Post plans to resign from her current position, and take over the helm of Britain’s postal service.
Moya Greene’s resignation as the head of Canada Post takes effect on July 14.
The 56 year old is the first female chief of the government-run royal mail.
The British mail service has been in pursuit of a new CEO since its former head left to become the chief executive of British television network ITV.
The chairman of Canada Post said the crown corporation is sorry to see Greene go.
Canada Post had five consecutive profitable years under Greene, despite the declining use of traditional mail.
