Two men arrested in connection with Scarborough sexual assault

TORONTO – Two men have been charged in connection with a sexual assault in the city’s east-end.

Toronto police say a 42-year-old woman was at a bar in the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue area on June 6.

Police allege a man gave the woman an opened bottle of liquor.

About 10 minutes later, the woman became “incoherent” and was assisted into a taxi by the man and another man, police said.

Police allege the woman was then taken to a motel by the second man where she was allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed.

Police arrested the first suspect Inderjeet Joshi, 40, of Mississauga on Monday. He is charged with administering a noxious thing.

Chandrarajah Selvarajah, 46, of Scarborough, was arrested Friday and charged with sexual assault and robbery.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court July 16.
