A 17-year-old male has been arrested, and two other young men are wanted after an alleged targeted shooting in the parking lot of Victoria Park Collegiate Insitute high school in North York.

Toronto police were called to the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Parkwoods Village Drive near the high school just after 11 a.m. on May 12.

It’s alleged that a 17-year-old boy returned to his car parked in a school parking lot when two vehicles pulled up beside him, and one of the occupants began shooting at him.

Police say the victim drove off while being pursued by a grey Mazda, with the vehicle’s occupant still shooting at him. The boy continued driving and contacted the police.

The victim was treated at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Ryan Bird, a spokesperson with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), confirmed at the time that the victim was a Grade 11 student.

On Wednesday, investigators executed search warrants in Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue East and Kennedy Road and Antrim Crescent areas in Scarborough.

One 17-year-old male suspect of Toronto was arrested and faces multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm and the discharge of a firearm with the intent to endanger life. The teenager appeared in court on Wednesday.

Two other suspects wanted by police

One witness, who was doing installation work at a house on the south side of the school, said he saw a black car with tinted windows speeding from the scene.

“We just heard what sounded like firecrackers, like about five shots, and then I’d seen a black car whipping around the school parking lot,” he told CityNews.

Police said 19-year-old Kody Lim of no fixed address and 20-year-old Zuhib Mohamed of Toronto are both wanted.

There are no photos of these men at this time.

Lim is described as Black with a thin build and black hair. Mohamed is described as Black with a thick build and black hair with a chipped tooth.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dash-camera footage at the time of the alleged shooting, to contact police.
