Let’s start off this week off with some fantasy!

Three Thousand Years of Longing is the newest film from George Miller (the creator of Mad Max: Fury Road and Babe). This film stars Tilda Swinton (from Memoria and Doctor Strange) as a lonely British academic who finds a old dirty bottle while travelling. She takes it home, and starts to clean it which frees a genie (played by Idria Elba from the Wire and Beast). The genie offers her three wishes, but she doesn’t want to make any wishes. He instead tells her the tale of his life, in hopes that it will convince her to make a wish.

Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart in Me Time.

Me Time is a new movie starring Kevin Hart (from Night School and Ride Along). He plays a stay-at-home dad whose wife (played by Regina Hall from Support the Girls) brings home the bacon. She offers to take their two kids away on a week-long trip so that Hart can finally get some me time. He decides to catch up with his old friend (played by Mark Wahlberg from Uncharted), but his old friend has some surprises up his sleeve. Those surprises involve a trip to the desert, cheetahs, and lots of women in their 20s.

Now, let’s take a look at a documentary about a modern icon of music!

Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby is a documentary that breaks down the life and legacy of, you guessed it, Lil Baby. Starting with his early career in drug dealing, time in prison, and eventually focusing on his gigantic musical success, this documentary looks at his entire essence. It shows that Baby is who the American dream is not supposed to work for. He’s a man the system was built to keep down, but he transcended the system and rose to the top.

That’s Amor

Next up, some romance and cuisine!

That’s Amor is a romantic comedy starring Riley Dandy (from Kappa Crypto) and Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (from Westworld). Dandy plays a woman whose life starts to fall apart on her 30th birthday. She loses her job, and discovers that her boyfriend is cheating on her. She moves back in with her mom, and decides to take a cooking class to get her troubles off of her mind. There she meets a young Spanish man who is only in the country for a short while. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but can she snag his heart?

Samaritan is a new film starring Sylvester Stallone (from Rocky, Rambo, and the Expendables). He plays a garbage man who years ago was secretly a superhero called Samaritan. He also plays Samaritan’s twin brother, Nemesis. Years ago the two fought in a power plant and it was suspected that both died. But Samaritan secretly lived, and now lives a quiet life. A young boy discovers his secret, and at the same time a gangster (played by Pilou Asbæk from Game of Thrones) decides to become the new Nemesis. Samaritan may have to come out of retirement after all.
