Durham police recruit facing impaired driving charges

A former police recruit in Durham region is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly disobeying traffic controls in Oshawa.

Police officers stopped a vehicle failing to obey to road signals in the area of Bond Street and Wilson Road around 11 p.m. on Sep. 7.

The driver was investigated and found to be a constable in training. He was not yet engaged in active policing duties at the time of the incident.

Police have charged 29-year-old Myles Gajadar, from Oshawa, with two impaired driving offences.

Gajadar has since resigned from his position, according to Durham Regional Police.
