A fog advisory has been lifted for Toronto and the GTA, as the thick fog that blanketed the area earlier on Monday started to make its way out of the region.
Environment Canada had warned of “near zero visibility” in the dense fog.
CityNews 680 meteorologist Jill Taylor said there was also the possibility of freezing fog in some areas, with the potential for black ice on roadways and bridges.
The fog was expected to completely dissipate later this morning.
The rest of the day in Toronto will see sunny breaks with the chance of a few showers and a high of 7 C.
Mild temperatures are expected to continue with record-setting highs possible this week.
A high of 8 C is in store for Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, but on Wednesday the temperature could soar to 13 C, which would break the record of 12.2 set on Feb. 15 in 1954.
