Toronto police search for suspect in face slashing attack

Toronto police are trying to track down a suspect in two separate violent attacks, one of which involved the victim being slashed in the face and upper body.

Police say the first incident took place on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at around 6:50 p.m. at a residence in the Keele Street and Bloor Street West area.

In a release, police said the suspect attacked the victim inside a residence. When the victim tried to run out, the suspect dragged the victim back inside.

Police were called, but the suspect fled before they arrived.

Less than a week later, on Saturday, June 24, at around 10:07 p.m. police were called back to the area after the same suspect allegedly struck the victim with an object, and then lashed them in the face and upper body with a sharp-edged weapon.

The suspect again managed to flee before police arrived.

Cyrus Alaei, 25, of Toronto is wanted on numerous charges, including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, possession of a weapon and assault.

He’s described as five foot two, with black hair and a black goatee.
