Weekend road closures in Toronto

It’s that time of the year again, when weekend events and construction take over Toronto, leading to road closures across the city.
Here are the road closures for the weekend of Nov.15-17.
Event
Santa Claus Parade
The 109th edition of the Santa Claus parade will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Road closures:
- 8 a.m.: Bloor St. W., from Ossington Ave. to Christie St.
- 10 a.m.: Bloor St. W., from Christie to Bathurst streets
- 10:45 a.m.: Bloor St. W., from Bathurst to Bay streets
- 10:45 a.m.: Avenue Rd./Queen’s Park, from Davenport Rd. to College St.
- 11 a.m.: University Ave., from College to Dundas streets
- 11:15 p.m.: University Ave., from Dundas to Front streets
- 11:30 p.m.: Wellington St., from University Ave. to Jarvis St.
- 11:45 p.m.: Front St., from Bay to Jarvis streets
Construction work
Lake Shore Blvd. closure
There will be partial closure at the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard and Spadina Avenue for streetcar track construction.
Timing of the closures:
- From Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. to Nov. 4 at 6 a.m.
- From Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. to Nov. 12 at 6 a.m.
Traffic traveling eastbound on Lake Shore Blvd. will be reduced to one lane at the intersection. The ramp from the eastbound Gardiner Expressway to Spadina Ave. will also be reduced to one lane.
King St. E. bridge repairs
The King St. E. section of the bridge — that carries Queen St. E. across the Don River and Don Valley Parkway — will be closed starting Sept. 9 for repairs.
The bridge repairs are expected to be completed in November.
The 503 Kingston Rd. and 504 King streetcars will be on diversion.
Yonge Street watermain replacement
Construction is underway on Yonge Street in North York for watermain replacement work.
During phase one of the project, the southbound curb lane on Yonge between Finch and Kingsdale avenues will be closed. Click here for more details.
Kingston Road construction
Drivers can expect slowdowns in the Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue area due to a TTC track reconstruction. Click here for the full story.
