In Brampton, a community has been left to pick up the pieces after a 10-year-old boy died during a sleepover.
There is a growing memorial there with flowers and teddy bears placed on the lawn in front of the burned-out remains of what was once a row of townhouses.
Nicolas Gabriel was sleeping over at a friend’s house when the blaze broke out. His death has shattered his close-knit family.
The victims already have enough food, clothing and toiletries, the City of Brampton says. To donate funds, go to Regeneration Outreach Community.
Nicolas’ mom’s colleagues also set up a webpage to collect money to assist with Nicolas’ funeral.
