Mark McAllister is an award‑winning journalist with more than three decades of experience covering local, national, and international news. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a political correspondent, investigative and feature reporter, host, and anchor. Mark is currently the Queen’s Park reporter for CityNews in Toronto, where he focuses on provincial politics and major public‑interest issues. He spent many years reporting from Toronto City Hall and led daily coverage of critical developments throughout the COVID‑19 pandemic. A trusted source of information, Mark has provided analysis and reporting during municipal, provincial, and federal elections. Mark has reported live from major news events, ranging from the front lines of police activity at the Toronto G20 protests to the street celebrations during the Toronto Raptors’ championship. He has also covered major professional sports events, including serving as the NBA beat reporter for Sportsnet. He began his career as the host of YTV News. In 2011, Mark was diagnosed with epilepsy following a seizure during a live broadcast. Since then, he has worked with support organizations to raise awareness through education and public events.
