Family, including 3 young children, held at gunpoint in Vaughan home invasion

Police are searching for two suspects after an armed home invasion in Vaughan.

York Regional police said around 6 p.m. Sunday two men forced their way into a home on Fossil Hill Road, in the Weston Road and Major Mackenzie Drive area. The family, including three young children, were home at the time.

It’s alleged that the father and two children were tied up while the mother, who was holding her infant, was forced at gunpoint to open the safe in the home.

Investigators said the suspects then forced everyone into a closet before making off with a sum of cash and some personal documents.

No one was injured in the incident.

Both suspects have been described as Asian and between 18 and 25 years old. Both suspects were dressed in dark clothing and were each armed with a black handgun.

Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
