Women Warned About Park Predator

Sex Crimes detectives are warning women to be on the lookout for a violent sexual predator who they believe is responsible for two brutal attacks recently.

In both, the suspect hid in bushes and pounced on unsuspecting victims before hitting them with a blunt object and sexually violating them.

“(They are pulled) into the bush and sexually assaulted in the bush,” explained Det. Brad Hoover.   “We’re obviously very concerned because of the violent nature of these attacks.”

In the first incident the attacker jumped out of the bushes around Kingston and Manse roads. He smashed a woman on the head with a rock or some sort of blunt object and sexually assaulted her.

He grabbed his second victim in a picturesque park at McCowan and Lawrence in broad daylight. This time the victim got away after a passerby answered her screams for help.

The suspect is black, 17 to 20 years old, around 5-11 with a medium build and short hair.

He has a deep voice and spoke with an accent.
