Alleged John Cusack Stalker Files For Restraining Order Against Him

John Cusack wants Emily Leatherman to stay away from him just like Emily Leatherman wants John Cusack to stay away from her.

So every should be happy, at least in theory.

Just days after the 40-year-old actor won a temporary restraining order against a woman he claims has been stalking him for more than 18 months, Leatherman responded with a similar request, which was also granted.

The stipulations for Leatherman’s restraining order are that the 31-year-old stays 500 feet from Cusack, his home, car, work, and any company or office where he does business.

In court papers, Cusack said Leatherman “is showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside, making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to meet with me and listing my address as her own during a recent arrest.”

Yikes.

In the papers, Cusack also included that she “threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if I do not help her.”

Meanwhile as is to be expected, Leatherman responded simply, “I’ve never written any of that.”

Currently staying with friends in Los Angeles, Leatherman admits to sending two letters to Cusack requesting that he use his celebrity status to urge police to investigate her belief that she was drugged and raped by several men in 2001.

She claims police have refused to take a report.

“I feel I’ve been set up to look like a stalker,” she said.

The reasoning behind Leatherman’s restraining order against Cusack isn’t as clear and is subject to a hearing in August.

Cusack’s publicist wouldn’t comment further.
