Everyone knows that two of the main keys to a successful career in sports are genetics, and getting an early start. So far, Ben Kirby is on track to realize his dreams of being a professional baseball player.
The 13-year-old comes from a family of ball players. His father, coached for 20 years and his brother played in the C.B.L.
“He’s been around the ball diamond since he was six months old or younger so, yeah, it’s been great,” said proud mom Martha. “And he’s been throwing things ever since he was a baby so he’s just been a ballplayer all his life.”
Ben currently plays for the Burlington Bulls, but he’s already set his sights high.
“I want to play for the Jays, star second baseman,” he adds.
