Police Release Composites Of Murder Suspects

Investigators believe Hasley McLean answered his door at 51 Morecambe Gate to someone he knew on Nov. 1, 2005 around 2:30am. The suspects on the other side shot the victim in the head and chest.

“As soon as Hasley opened the door, he was brutally and cowardly shot,” Det. Sgt. Ken Taylor said.

Two men were seen running north, through a plaza parking lot and into 260 Chester Le Blvd. after the shots rang out.

Police beefed up community patrols in the Victoria Park and Finch area after the fatal shooting, hoping witnesses would come forward with vital information that could help investigators track down the triggermen.

Several witnesses spoke with authorities and provided key information on the McLean murder and other shootings in the area. As a result, police released two composite sketches Thursday of the suspects sought for McLean’s death.

“These are brave people coming forward who live in the area, and they just want to see their area cleaned up,” Taylor said.

One of the tips investigators received suggested that one of the murder suspects was already in jail.

Now that authorities have released the composites, they’re hoping the public will come through for them once again and help them identify the two suspects and possibly others.

“I also believe that there are more people involved other than just these two suspects,” Taylor said, but he wouldn’t say exactly how many.
