The days of romantic dinners by candlelight still exist, but in an era of never ending technological advancements, there are just as many men and women hooking up in the artificial glow of their laptops. Despite a fair share of bad experiences, many are finding love online.
Kerri Henman is one of them. She met her husband online, and admits she wasn’t expecting to find dating success through a computer.
“If someone told me this is how I would meet my husband, I would have told them they were insane,” she remarks.
“My mother sent me every horror story she could lay her hands on, she was freaking.”
Her future mate Paul was living in England when they met, but after a passionate computer courtship he moved to Toronto and they have now been married four years now.
“Usually in a bar, the first thing you see is their face,” she said. “But here the first thing you see is their text.”
“You find out a lot more of who they really are.”
