This bull apparently knew he was destined to end up on the butcher’s table so he made a break for it.
The animal managed to escape from a slaughterhouse, or, fell off a truck bound for one and ran wild through the streets of Newark, New Jersey for nearly 10 hours.
Local residents got to see some urban cowboy action as a rangler from South Africa was called in to corral the 600 lb. creature Friday morning, which allowed an animal control officer to get close enough to sedate it.
The bull’s brave escape was successful – it will be sent to a zoo operated by Humane Societies that is a refuge for abused or unwanted animals – much better than meeting the butcher.
It’s a good thing this bull didn’t have a run-in with Tony Soprano.
