Snoop Dogg Arrested Again Following Jay Leno Appearance

The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested as he left NBC Studios following the performance Tuesday for investigation of illegal possession of a handgun and drugs.

Broadus and two members of his entourage were taken into custody at about 6pm following a search of the 35-year-old’s Diamond Bar home and car according to police.

A handgun and illegal drugs were seized, said Sgt. Kevin Grandalski, adding that Snoop was arrested for investigation of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, cocaine, marijuana, and for allegedly having a false compartment in his vehicle.

According to the rapper’s lawyer, Donald Etra, Broadus was “in a car pulling out of the studio” when he was stopped by police.

Broadus paid his bail, which was set at $60,000, and was released shortly after 1am Wednesday.

“As of this point, he stands innocent of all charges,” Etra said. “The goal tonight was to get him out of jail. The goal tomorrow is to deal with the case.”

He’ll be arraigned January 11.

The detainment followed the rapper’s Oct. 26 arrest at Bob Hope Airport after airport security alleged they found a gun and marijuana in his car.

No charges were filed in that case but Broadus is due in court Dec. 12 for an arraignment.
