Actress Lindsay Lohan, known for her late-night partying ways, has checked herself into rehab.
The 20-year-old, who’s not even of legal drinking age in the United States, entered the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. According to an entertainment magazine she arrived at the facility at about 2:30pm in a sports utility vehicle.
“I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time,” the actress said in a statement issued Wednesday through her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick.
It was confirmed last month that the Freaky Friday star was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Lohan said recently that she’d been going to AA meetings for a year.
“I haven’t had a drink in seven days. Or anything,” she was quoted as saying. “I’m not even legal to, so why would I? I don’t drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there’s no need to. I feel better not drinking. It’s more fun. I have Red Bull.”
Last summer Lohan was treated at a Los Angeles area hospital for dehydration on the set of the film Georgia Rule.
The young star has also appeared in Mean Girls, Bobby, and A Prairie Home Companion.
