Raptors In First Place At Halfway Point Of The Season

Often balancing precariously in the busy world of pro sports in Toronto, the Raptors have found themselves on steady footing after rising to the top of their division while showcasing the unique talents of players like Chris Bosh and T.J. Ford.

They’ve also learned a most valuable lesson about fickle fans — if you win, they’ll pack the stadium.   If you lose, you’re yesterday’s news.

“It feels good to play in front of a packed crowd and it feels good for them to see us winning,” said Bosh, who has helped turn things around since returning from injury.    “We’re just trying to keep it up. We want to keep the intensity going and we hope everybody continues to come out.”

Although the Raptors are situated in the league’s weakest division, players and fans alike looking towards the playoffs.

“We’re definitely a playoff team,” said Morris Peterson.   “But I think to get where we want to get to we have to aim bigger than that.”

“We want fans to think about it and we’re thinking about it and we want this environment to be playoff-like so that one we can get ready for it and two we can play well.”
