Nelly Furtado Nabs Five Juno Nominations

The names read like an all-star roster and in many ways it is – Nelly Furtado, Billy Talent, k-os and more.
They’ve all been nominated for five Juno Awards at this spring’s annual ceremony.
Furtado will host the show and may be coming to the podium more than once to accept a prize. The Canadian superstar is up for Artist of the Year, Single of the Year (for “Promiscuous”), and Pop Album and Album of the Year for her incredible hit CD “Loose”.
Also getting multiple nods: Sarah Harmer (3) and Hedley (3), led by Jacob Hoggard.
A lot of familiar CanCon names are also scattered on this year’s list of nominees, including Alexisonfire, the Tragically Hip, Jim Cuddy and Neil Young.
The Junos will be handed out in Saskatoon on April Fool’s Day. But no one’s putting any significance in the date, because you can be sure all those in the running won’t be fooling around in their desire for a win.
