Mar. 6 – StreetBeat – Cops Make Quick Arrest In Feared “Serial Killer” Slaying

Quick Arrest

A suspect has been charged in a murder case that has people in Niagara Region worried again about a possible serial killer.

Fifty-five year-old Wayne Ryczak was arrested at his St Catharines trailer park and is charged with first degree murder.

Stephanie Beck’s body was found Sunday on a country road in Vineland. Police won’t say how the 29-year-old died or if she was a prostitute. Over the past 12 years, the bodies of six sex trade workers have been dumped around the Niagara Region.


Fatal Crash

A man was killed overnight in crash that closed part of the westbound Gardiner Expressway near Jameson Ave.

The victim was in a limousine that collided with a truck in a crash involving three vehicles just before 2am west of Parkside Dr. The limo ended up underneath the truck on the busy roadway that had already been affected by one closure due to falling ice fears from the CN Tower.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
