Raptor Fan Becomes 20 Millionth ACC Visitor

The Raptors may have gotten the victory at the ACC Wednesday night but it was someone who wasn’t even on the team who came away the big winner.

And you’ve never even heard of him.

His name is Lee Banco and before he entered the arena, he was just another fan. Once he crossed the turnstile, though, he became the 20 millionth person to head into the Air Canada Centre.

And that turned him eligible for a celebration and a host of prizes.

The lucky patron wound up with an autographed Chris Bosh jersey, two Leaf tickets, and a flat screen TV. His seats were upgraded to court side for the game and he got to meet some of his hoop heroes.

And as if that wasn’t lucky, enough, he’d just celebrated his birthday. And it was the only time he’d come to the ACC for a basketball game.

“It was unbelievable,” he agrees. “This is my first Raptor game ever. I just came from vacation last night, and this is my birthday present.”

He also got another one – watching the team crush the Grizzlies 94-87

While it seems like the Air Canada Centre has been around forever, it’s still a relative newcomer. The massive hockey and basketball palace opened in February 1999, making it still just an infant at eight years old.
